Martech has been operating in Canada and on specific overseas projects since 1990, from our home base, Burlington, Ontario, Canada.
Martech offers visual and non-destructive testing services for both new and existing steel construction. For example: Boilers and Pressure Vessels, Storage Tanks, Temporary and Permanent Structures, Plant Turn Around Inspection, Plant Machinery, Lifting Devices and Mobile Cranes, etc.
Martech's scope also includes Inspection and Certification of cranes and lifting devices of all variations and types.

Visual inspection
Our visual inspectors follow proven, qualified procedures developed in accordance with C.W.B., A.S.M.E. and A.W.S. standards.
Construction or capital projects

On stream inspection

CERTIFICATION OF CRANES

LIFTING DEVICES
Martech's comprehensive crane and lifting device certification program is structured to be the finest in Canada. Our professionals are highly skilled, qualified and certified to perform these detailed inspections. We are highly recommended by all of the high profile clients we provide our services to.
Martech specializes in the inspection and certification of lifting devices and equipment of all variations and types. We hold current certification to the Canadian welding bureau, C.S.A. standard W178.1. Our inspections are performed under the direction of a Professional Engineer authorized by the association of professional engineers of Ontario.
Martech incorporates visual and non-destructive testing i.e.: magnetic particle testing (m.t), liquid penetrant testing (p.t), ultrasonic testing (u.t), operational checks and certification by a professional engineer.
Martech would be pleased to set up and design an annual or semi-annual inspection program for you, related to your specific needs and service conditions which will help you meet your responsibilities under the occupational health and safety act.
Note: Ontario regulations along with applicable CSA standards require each lifting device be examined at least once a year. These inspections should be carried out by a competent & certified inspector, to confirm it's structural and mechanical competency.
OTHER SERVICES
Quality control, steel & welding visual inspection
These services provide inspections at manufacturers facilities and erection sites to verify qualifications of personnel and that materials and procedures used are in accordance with specification requirements.
Preventive maintenance
Using current and up to-date equipment and experienced technicians, "wear and tear" on in-service equipment is monitored to determine the extent of deterioration for replacement and scheduling of worn or defective parts.
Surface and sub-surface imperfections
Magnetic particle and die penetrant equipment is utilized by our certified personnel to inspect components for surface defects. Ultrasonic testing equipment and personnel are utilized to detect deficiencies on welds and weldments, castings, forgings, rotating shafts and mechanical components, etc.
Corrosion surveys
These tests determine the extent of material lost due to exposure to corrosive elements.
Wall thickness gauging
Tests are performed on plates and pipes to monitor operational "wear and tear".
Hardness testing (Brinell & Rockwell)
Portable equipment facilitates accessibility of testing. Upon completion verification reports are issued.
Paint thickness testing
Special tests are performed to ensure that paint coats meet required standards.
